It'ss a rare occurrence when two books by the same author are published at the same time. But, Frances Lynn's8217;s debut novels - 's8220;Frantic's8221; and 's8220;Crushed's8221; are so unalike - in different genres and aimed at different age groups - that Eiworth Publishing decided to release them simultaneously. The only way that a reader would guess that 's8220;Frantic's8221; - about the nostalgic, crazy early 's70'ss in London and San Francisco, and 's8220;Crushed's8221; - an illustrated teen fiction novel - are by the same author 's8211; is because of Frances Lynn's8217;s distinctive writing style.

Author Frances Lynn finished Frantic and Crushed within months of each other. She says, I started Frantic in the early Seventies. I wrote Crushed incredibly quickly - in a few months only. Creating teen fiction made a welcome change from writing about drugs and madness. I wrote Crushed while I was editing Frantic.

There may be some survivors out there who could enjoy the powerful regression therapy Frantic has to offer. It'ss so full of visuals that reading it becomes like watching a movie. A fast and funny reading experience which left me wondering and pondering about what happened to all of us who lived through that purple haze era, said Ulla Ward de Mora.

The eccentric adults in Crushed are survivors from the Seventies. That'ss why readers who enjoy Frantic - about drugs, sex and rock 'sn's roll will be able to relate to the quirky humour in Crushed.

Every once in a while you read a book that you wouldn'st normally choose, and get blown away. This is what happened to me on reading Crushed. Altogether an assured and fascinating debut novel, says Andrew Palmer, 47.

Frances Lynn was born in London and grew up in Notting Hill Gate. She was educated at Malvern Girls's College. She became Britain's8217;s bitchiest gossip columnist on the now defunct Ritz magazine, and was a prolific freelance film critic and journalist for Fleet Street papers and the London glossies. Frances Lynn now lives in central London, enjoying life as a professional writer and author. She is currently writing her third novel called Disguise - about a reincarnation conspiracy.
